Thomas More College of Liberal Arts is one of twenty-five institutions nationwide to earn a 2024 Leading Colleges Award for Retention.
“The ability for college to change the trajectory of a student’s life is clear … if they graduate,” states Leading Colleges on their website. “How an institution handles the work of student success and retention is a critical component of being student-centered.”

In recent years, TMC’s average retention rate is 90%. In contrast, “in fall 2022, the full-time retention rate in postsecondary institutions was 76.5%,” according to the National Center for Education Statistics. This rate refers to “the percentage of full-time, first-time bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree-seeking undergraduates from the previous fall who are again enrolled in the current fall.”
“Our retention rate is much more than just a number,” commented Senior Admissions Officer Michael Yost ’18. “Thomas More College’s retention rate is a testament to the inherent goodness of the place. Our College is truly a community: one where the intellectual and spiritual virtues are pursued in the context of deep friendship, one where both students and faculty form a real collegium, one where each member is seen and known in charity.”

Thomas More College has received a variety of awards over the years in recognition of its high educational standards. TMC has earned the highest rating of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni every year since 2012–13; when the organization introduced an A+ category last year, TMC was one of seven institutions nationwide to merit the distinction.
For those who are looking to receive a quality education in a strong, faith-filled community, TMC is a clear option. Mr. Yost provided an invitation in closing: “Young men and women who want to study, pray, and live with others who are seized by the love of wisdom, beauty, and the good life should apply without delay to Thomas More College.”
