Biography

Christopher Baker is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he grew up as an avid soccer player. He earned all-state distinctions before heading off to Wyoming Catholic College, where he would lead hiking, biking, rock climbing, and cross-country skiing trips as part of the college’s Outdoor Leadership Program. He graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts and was awarded the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Award for Excellence in Outdoor Leadership. Mr. Baker has completed two National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) courses as both a student and a leader intern.

A few years after college, Mr. Baker moved to Rome. He earned a PhB and a PhL from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas and studied French and Italian while also working for the University of Notre Dame’s Rome Study Abroad Program. His interests in logic, epistemology, and metaphysics led to the completion of his licentiate thesis, entitled “Antichristus Nascetur: Future Contingents Presently True According to St. Thomas Aquinas.”

Mr. Baker is the founder and director of Altum L’alto Pilgrimages, which leads adventure-based pilgrimages to various destinations across Europe. He lives in Assisi, Italy.
