Biography

Clarke Mitchell is a native New Englander, born on the Cape, but he spent his early childhood on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland.

He was introduced to the Catholic liberal arts tradition at Trivium School in Lancaster, MA. Afterwards, he attended Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA, graduating in 2011. He received his master’s in Philosophy from Boston College and is currently working on his PhD, writing his dissertation on the various ways Euclid’s Elements can be interpreted as an Aristotelian science.

Mr. Mitchell began teaching Euclidean Geometry at Thomas More College in 2019. He now teaches Euclidean Geometry, Logic, and Modern Scientific Thinking. Previously, he taught Latin, Mathematics, Drama, and Music at Trivium School from 2012–2021.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Mitchell enjoys painting houses in the summer, reading historical fiction, and singing Gilbert and Sullivan. He and his wife, Cate, are also kept busy raising their three young boys and learning the latest forgotten homesteading skill.
