Teaching Positions at Ville de Marie Academy

Founded in 1991, we are an Independent, K-12 Catholic Classical Liberal Arts School located in
Scottsdale, Arizona. Our Faculty are required to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium and
Profession of Faith to the Catholic Church. Our faculty and students attend the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass on a daily basis. Our purpose is to cultivate wisdom and virtue by nourishing the souls of our
students in all that is true, beautiful and good, so that in Christ, the student is better able to attain the
noble end for which he was created – to know, love and glorify God both now and forever.
Due to growth in our student body, we are seeking upper school teachers familiar with classical, Catholic
liberal arts education and are enthusiastic about teaching youth. Candidates must be loyal, practicing
Catholics who are motivated, organized and possess the ability to challenge, encourage and lead students.
Previous teaching experience is desirable but not required.

We are accepting applications for a Humanities Instructor in grades 9-12. Qualified candidates must
possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree and a solid understanding of Catholic Liberal Arts. This
individual will be responsible to teach history, literature and composition. Familiar with Great Books.
Course work could include: Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Middle ages, US Government and Modern
period. Candidates will have the ability to encourage, challenge and engage students. Strong written and
verbal communication skills required. Background in Latin is a plus.

Qualified candidates will be enthusiastic for teaching and leading upper school courses to grades 7-12
students in a challenging academic environment. Individuals must possess the ability to mentor, engage
and possess a passion for teaching youth. This candidate must be competent to teach multiple subjects
which could include courses such as physics, chemistry and calculus. Previous teaching experience in the
Math and/or Science is preferred. Solid depth and knowledge of subjects and strong organizational skills
